The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) says it will question Indonesian Ambassador to Colombia Michael Menufandu next week as a witness in the case of graft suspect M. Nazaruddin.
Nazaruddin, a former Democratic Party treasurer and legislator, fled Indonesia this year to escape graft allegations linked a SEA Games project, but was later arrested in Columbia and returned home.
"Yes, [the questioning] is next week," KPK deputy chairman M. Jasin said on Sunday, as quoted from kompas.com.
However, he could not confirm yet what day Michael would be questioned.
The KPK plans to question Michael regarding evidence that Nazaruddin left with him in a black bag after his arrest in Cartagena.
Nazaruddin said that the bag contained a flash disk and a CD containing a video recording of KPK deputy chairman Chandra M. Hamzah arriving at Nazaruddin's house. These possessions were not found on Nazaruddin when he returned to Jakarta.
Nazaruddin has said the KPK deputies had come to his house to discuss cases implicating Democratic Party officials.
